Once exposed to the elements the ADEZZ Corten Steel CARREZ Trough will weather and develop a protective layer of rust, revered by landscapers for its natural appearance. Now available in 21 different sizes the ADEZZ Corten Steel CARREZ Trough will enhance even the grandest designs. The extra-large size troughs offer generous planting capacities that are large enough to house most mature shrubs for instant screening.

Corten Steel, also known as weather-resistant steel, is a steel alloy made of iron which has copper, silicon, nickel and chromium added that is low-maintenance, weatherproof and durable.

For an additional cost, the ADEZZ Corten Steel CAREZZ Trough can be made watertight by applying a Polyurea coating to the inside of the planter. Please contact Riverhill Garden Supplies for a cost.

The ADEZZ Corten Steel CARREZ Trough will arrive un-rusted. Once exposed to the elements the Corten Steel will naturally weather, this is known as the 'weathering process' (see image). Throughout the weathering process, please be aware that there will be 'run-off' from the Corten Steel that can cause staining.

After several months a protective layer of rust will form that is a natural orange-brown colour, this fixed coating will provide the trough with protection against further corrosion. Riverhill Garden Supplies recommend applying 'Owatrol' varnish once the weathering process has reached this final stage.

Important

• Ensure that there is adequate drainage (holes at the bottom are standard), no excess water should remain in the trough, the combination of oxygen and earth will further rust the planter
• Do not use hydro grains in the soil as they hold water
• Please unpack the Corten Steel Trough immediately after delivery so that any moisture between the packaging and the Corten Steel Planter does not remain sealed. Failure to do so will result in irregular rust and stains

Planting Advice

• Provide the base of the Corten Steel Trough with a layer of at least 35mm of pebbles
• Do not use an overflow pipe (no water should sit in the Corten Steel Trough)
• Place an anti-root cloth over the pebbles
• Top up with earth suitable for the chosen planting scheme

Dispatch Methods

Parcel Delivery

Smaller products are delivered by parcel couriers, such as TNT and Parcelforce. Upon dispatch, we will notify you via email with the estimated day of delivery and forward you a tracking number.

Pallet Delivery

Larger products will be delivered by our own dedicated delivery drivers or by specialist carriers such as Palletways and ILS who will be given your contact details and instructed to book in delivery with you once your order reaches your local delivery depot.

What if My Order Arrives Damaged?

Our goal is to make buying online with Southern Planters Ltd easy, safe and efficient. Although extremely rare items can arrive damaged and we are conscious of this, so it is important that you read the following.

Upon delivery, please carry out the following steps

• Remove the goods completely from their packaging
• Closely inspect the goods for damages or shortfalls
• Sign for the goods, accordingly, noting damages/shortfalls and refuse the goods
• Notify Southern Planters Ltd of any damages/shortfalls within 24 hours by telephoning the office on t 01732 522471. The office is open 7 days a week, from 8am to 10pm including Bank Holidays except Christmas Day. Providing that you have signed for the goods as damaged and refused the goods we will repeat and dispatch your order again or arrange a full refund

The courier is obliged to wait 15 minutes for you to carry out these checks if need be. No claim will be accepted if a clean signature is given. Any claim for damages/shortfall must be made within 24 hours.
